Alain Verbeke
Biography
Alain Verbeke completed undergraduate studies (summa cum laude earned in each year) as well as a PhD in Applied Economics (summa cum laude) at the University of Antwerp. He also earned a Licentiaat in Business Economics - Master’s in Public Administration degree from the University of Antwerp (magna cum laude), and a Master’s degree in Financial Management (summa cum laude). He became a Professor at the Solvay Business School, Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 1988. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the Solvay Business School since 2002.
He has published more than 40 books and has over 25K citations on Google Scholar. A recent Stanford University study on research productivity and impact ranked him in the top 1% of research active scholars globally, in the broad field of Business & Management. Over his career, he has also personally directed or contributed to more than 150 strategic management consulting studies, mostly in the realm of large-scale infrastructure and governance challenges.
